Lodge Host

Our lodge hosts are the key to the success of our lodges and one of the reasons why our guests keep returning year on year.​

We have a full-time position available for a Lodge Host to take care of the day to day running of one of our lodges in the heart of Niseko.

As a lodge host, you will be responsible for taking care of our guests needs, preparing breakfast and maintaining cleanliness in the lodge. You will need to be outgoing to create a welcoming atmosphere in the lodge and keen to interact with guests - recommending restaurants, helping them to book activities and generally making them feel at home in the lodge.

Job Responsibilities

  • Welcoming new arrivals and checking out guests
  • Guest relations and problem solving
  • Managing guest arrivals and departures
  • Responsible for all emergency matters within the lodge including after hours
  • Informing guests of lodge rules
  • Ensuring the lodge is kept clean and tidy at all times, including common areas, bathrooms and bedrooms
  • Answering telephone, email and in-house guest enquiries
  • Educating yourself about the resort, and keeping up with resort events and services, in order to promote to guests
  • Daily lift shuttles
  • Operational management in all aspects, including breakfast preparation, cleaning, pre-arrival checks, post-departure checks and snow clearing around the lodge
  • Assisting other lodges and lodge hosts if necessary
  • Communicating any grievances to management as required
  • Documentation of any new procedures
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by management
  • Assisting with cleaning on transfer days (changing linen, towels, etc.), sorting dirty linen for collection and making necessary preparations for new arrivals
  • Control and management of stock and ordering (food, linen, amenities, etc.)
  • Ensuring the separation of guest’s rubbish within the lodge as per Japanese rubbish collection rules
  • Working hours are not fixed and depend on your efficiency and time management, but this role normally requires approximately 40 hours per week

Experience / Skills Required

  • Outgoing and friendly attitude
  • Well organised and good time management
  • Attention to detail
  • Chalet experience is preferred
  • Must be a pro-active team player
  • Willing to work some early mornings and some late nights
  • Ability to think quickly and react to situations accordingly
  • Love snow!
  • Must hold an International Driving Permit valid in Japan
  • Must have or be eligible for a Japanese Working Holiday Visa
